Ireland's H&A event truly international
 The annual Ireland Section Honours & Awards event was a truly internation, not to say astronomical event. Awardees came from places as divese as Montreál and Cagliari. Two of the awards were made for candidates who were involved in control projects involving astronomy. The Pioneer waward was presented to a founding member of the section which is 35 years old this year! Read on...
President Staples at Abu Dhabi function
ISA President Leo Staples visited the Abu Dhabi section on in December. Members from United Arab Emirates and Oman arrange presidential dinner and Lecture event.
New VP Elect
 John Medcalf, of the Spain Section has been elected as VP-elect. His term, as D12 VP, will start on 1st January 2013 when he will succeed Jean-Pierre Hauet.
John Medcalf is a Life Senior Member of ISA. He was key to the creation of the Spain Section, being member of the first Executive Committee in 1998. Since then, he has always been engaged with the Section, acting as Delegate from 2000 to 2005. John has the reputation of being very proactive with a clear leadership competence. He is a renowned professional, having devoted his career to the Automation Sector. Recently retired, his last position was General Manager of Emerson in Spain. From that position he greatly encouraged professionals from his company to be members of ISA and to serve in leadership positions.The Announcement
Stuxnet feature
Le numéro actuel de Le numéro ISA Flash No 44, bulletin d'information d'ISA-France, met à jour les dernières informations sur le malware Duqu qui semble être un précurseur à un successeur possible de Stuxnet. Ce dernière a été traité dans le N* 40 de l'ISA-Flash.
The current issue of ISA France Newsletter ISA Flash No. 44 brings up to date on the latest information of the Stuxnet malware.
Visit to Israel Section
The Israel Section is very active. They organise technical events and training courses. 40 members attended the annual meeting to which District VP Hauet was invited by the former President Itzik Shabat. This was an excellent opportunity for explaining the ISA organization and the role of the District 12.
During this meeting a new committee was elected : Giora Brandwine, President, Ofer Stern, President Elect, and Udi Kedem, secretary.
VP Hauet expressed himself well satisfied with the progress of the section and congratulated their success.
France Section honoured
The France Section was honoured For developing a series of French language training modules for major ISA standards. Picture shows Jean Pierre accepting the honour on behalf of the section at the Gala H&A event at Automation Week in October.

Dave O’Brien, past president of the ISA Ireland Section, offered more information on this section within the Society by participating in a Q&A with ISA Insights.

District 12 is one of 14 Districts comprising ISA's District Board. The District Board and the Department Board are arms of the Executive Board, which is the principle legislative body of ISA.
District 12 is chaired by Jean- Pierre Hauet, from the France Section, in his role as District 12 Vice President.
